Sometimes, in our eagerness to get our gardens planted, we've been
guilty of not properly preparing the soil. When you've got 20
fat-caned new rosebushes just quivering to grow, it's kind of hard to
keep them soaking an extra day or two while you double-dig a bed and
add the necessary amendments.
Proper soil preparation, however, really can make the difference
between a thriving rosebed and one that just seems to malinger
along.
So we urge you to take that little bit of extra time and plan your
bed and amend the soil properly.
